Lower School Spring Term Stunning Start 2023

This term lower school have started their new topic Horrible Histories with ‘being a Pirate’ day. Being a Pirate is all about adventures at sea, exotic islands and buried treasure! Ash, Oak, Elm and Willow classes have learnt a lot about being a Pirate- they found out about Black Beard, why Pirates had skull and crossbones as their flag (called the Jolly Roger), what it was like on the ships (they killed 400 rats on one journey!) and the dangerous weapons they used. Pupils got very creative in class making treasure maps, pirate hats, cutlasses and ships and practice walking the plank in forest school.
